I got this movie on DVD for cheap from like a dollar store or something. I saw it had a label at the top that said it was part of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) DVD Series, this didn't sway me, because I have seen bad movies with film festival stuff all over them, but I gave it a chance.
I got this movie on DVD for cheap from like a dollar store or something. I saw it had a label at the top that said it was part of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) DVD Series, this didn't sway me, because I have seen bad movies with film festival stuff all over them, but I gave it a chance. This movie is a classic format romantic comedy. If you know the genre you pretty much know the plot. It stars Orlando's own Wayne Brady, who I think everyone underestimates since they've seen him smiling and singing and dancing around on TV looking like the definition of OREO, but he seemed like he showed something when he went on the Dave Chappel Show a few years ago and he has done pretty well since. His costar and love interest is Sydney TamiiaPoitier, Sidney Poitier's daughter. I hadn't seen her in anything before, but she did a good job. The story is about Wayne Brady's character, who gets his heart broken in a very public and embarrassing situation and decides he wasn't careful enough in selecting a woman, so he decides to make a list of what he wants and not settle for less. This of course leads to him not having a woman in his life until he meets Sydney TamiiaPorter's character. She seems like everything he ever wanted, but Flex Alexander and Malcolm Jamal Warner enter the picture and everything gets turned upside down. I am not a big romantic comedy fan, but this movie was pretty well done and I liked it. There could have been more transformation in the main character among other things ( It didn't really push the intensity to 10), but the movie was enjoyable, check it out.

Standard romantic comedy, but well done
Don't sleep on Wayne Brady.
